MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR to you and your dear ones!
“There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.” Albert Einstein
The quote of Albert Einstein came to my mind when I saw the beautiful panoramic view of Salzburgs surrounding mountains from above the clouds. It reminded me, it is up to me, what way I choose to look at the world.
Every moment I have a new chance to make the choice of seing the world from a new perspective. Every moment I can consciously determine what to focus on: the shaddow or the light. The doubts or the clarity… And when my mind is clouded with doubts, I can move on and put myself into the warm soothing sunlight.
This picture from above the clouds, which I selected for you and me is like a reminder for all that. It is a metaphor. See: we live below. And if we would have stayed there, we would have thought “there is no light, we can´t see, it´s a very sad day, mybe there would even be the conclusion that there is no hope…”, but what we perceive is just one of many ways how we can perceive the world. So in that case we moved up on top of the mountains. And there it was: the sun, to greet us. The light, the clarity, the joy, the sense of freedom… it was all there before, too. But now, we were able to see it, to perceive it, to enjoy it.
In that sense, I´d like to convey to you and your dear ones my best wishes and that you may be able to perceive the beauty and uniqueness and diversity that exists 360 degrees all in and around you ever anew.
O COME LET US ADORE HIM
When I listened tho the famous christmas carol “o come let us adore him”, I instantly thought: this is the right picture to display what the song is all about. And in that picture Christ is the visible sun… The sun/the son is born… and darkness/doubt… vanishes… And there is clarity, freedom and love and joy… This is, what I´d like to convey to you and your dear ones with this picture.
COME O YE FAITHFUL
Here is the chrismas Carol for you in the festive way, sung buy the King´s College Cambridge Choir:
Here are the lyrics and background infos to the song above.
The following is another gift I´d like to remind you of, that actually not I but Händel made us when he composed it. It is one of my alltime favorites.
MESSIAH by Georg Friedrich Händel
AND YOU? HOW DO YOU CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS?
I´d love to hear from you – maybe you´d even like to share some of your ways, the stories you read, the music you listen to, the things you associate with advent and christmas?! 🙂
May this be a special time of the year for you and may you be happy.
